Pretty sweet BUT Aug 31, 2010 I bought this rocket at a hobby shop. This rocket was the cheapest out of every rocket in the store. The rocket is easily built, it took me about 20 minutes. It only ended up being about 3 inches tall, and it was kinda cute. I launched it over a lake and it went out of sight. I used an A-10 engine. My family and I searched, and 10 minutes later, we found it. I estimated that it went about 800+ feet in the air.
Now your probably asking: Why was the toy fun?
I gave the toy a four for fun because the launch was awesome, but recovering it is not fun.
Why was the toy educational?
I learned that the larger the engine, the faster and higher it goes.
Why was the toy durable?
I only gave the toy a three for durability because it's not very waterproof. One of the fins fell off and I can't use it again. Bummer.
Overall: This toy was fun, but it easily gets lost and its not waterproof. I suggest launching it over a field and painting it blaze orange or black like I did. But, the launch was awesome and the price for A-10 engines, this rocket, a wire used to launce, and an ignition system was only about 19 dollars, which is very cheap.
Do I recommend this toy? Yes, I do.

Cheap and Fun Aug 26, 2009
By Thomas E. Tweedel I got this as a starter rocket for my son. While it is rated a skill level 1 the fact that you have to cut the fins from a pattern out of two sticks of balsa actually makes it harder than some of the bigger rockets with pre-cut fins. Though with this one you don't have to mess with the engine mount (which is easy).
Its a fun rocket to shoot but not as fun as the larger ones. The problem is you have a hard time seeing it go up and its virtually invisible comming down unless the light is just right. The key to finding it is to watch for the "pop" of the engine. If you trace a line straight down from that it will be within 10 feet. Tumble recovery is a bit of a misnomer, dart recovery is more like it. The thing comes straight down nose first and then sticks into the grass. Its not heavy enough to cause itself or anything else damage.
I'd really recommend the 1/4 A engines for it. Makes it easier to track and find. But in the end this rocket is a fire and forget. Your going to loose it and honestly none of the tumble recovery rockets are that impressive. Its a good rocket to learn about loss with...
So in summary
Pro's
Cheap
Easily Built
Cons
Easily Lost
Not that exciting
Conclusion
If you want a cheap rocket to buy and shoot and don't mind a significant chance of loss this is a good one. Otherwise get something bigger.

ok rocket until you lose it Aug 04, 2011 This rocket was cool while launching, but the tumble recovery system stinks. You can't keep track of it, so basically the situation is that you launch it once and you lose it. In my case I lost it in a soybean field.

itty bitty rockets Feb 18, 2008
By Gabriel A. Libertarian These extra small rockets are great for a smaller budget, but they are easily lost, which can be devastating to a 10 year old kid.
Take time putting it together and take photos of your progress so you have something to do while the glue dries.
I personally only use the 1/4A to 1/2A engines in these rockets, which can be purchased at most online hobby stores.
Nice simple rocket Jan 02, 2012
By arogop I bought this for my kids and it was easy to put together. We painted it up nice and look forward to launching it when the weather is good.
Assembly was easy for us though it may not be the best "first rocket" project for a kid. This is a tumbler and I would recommend painting the nose cone before you glue it on which is a different order than the instructions.
