What a blast! Jul 24, 2007

This is our second rocket and it's our first E2X rocket, which means there is some assembly involved; more than a 3 year old child could do, but much less than a Level 1 class rocket. It was very easy to put together and it took less than one hour. We went with the D engine for our very first flight and it was awesome! (see Mom's photo)
Be sure and get the larger guide rod that is not included.
I highly recommend this rocket. What a blast!!!
Oh, if your kiddo isn't quite old enough to enjoy this rocket, you will probably want to order one of these before your spouse starts to question your motives :) :

Great Rocket May 05, 2008

I bought this rocket a few years ago with a buddy of mine as an introduction to model rockets. We first launched it on C11 engines, and it was a blast. Definitely a great rocket -- impressive launches and pretty high altitudes considering the size of the beast.
For a little extra thrill, buy an Estes E9-8 Engine pack and launch it with one of them. Woof... The first time we did that, it caught the neighborhood kids off guard... definitely heard some "whoa" sounds. Just make sure to add some tape around the outside of the engine to keep it in there snug -- with the extra length of an E, the engine wont lock in and if that popped out instead of the parachute, the rocket could turn ballistic.

One of the best Estes rockets Sep 18, 2011
By Timothy D. Shoppa I've been flying rockets since I was a kid... and now helping my kids fly them.
Overall I've been less than impressed with the Estes plastic-fin rocket kits. They seem a little complex and the tiny plastic parts seemed difficult compared to the "classic" balsa fins I was used to.
BUT... the Blue Ninja is the exception. The larger fin unit went together without any problem at all. Plastic cement does a surprisingly good job of adhering to the cardboard body tubes. And the plastic mid-section shock cord mount for the parachute is truly superior to any of the other shock cord mount methods I've ever seen.
My son and I got about 20 flights (mostly with C11 engines) out of our Blue Ninja before a wind gust took it away and put it on a roof. It was extremely reliable and impressive on launch, and a good match to the soccer field/baseball fields in our neighborhood available for launching. Highly recommended. It became our go-to bigger version of the Big Bertha.

Blue's the Best Jun 10, 2011
By Cam This rocket is the best. It was an easy kit to build and, did't take any paint or anything else out of the box except for glue. This is one of the best rockets.

Super Fun Starter Rocket May 31, 2011
By JimmyJames bought the Blue Ninja, because my boy loves all things rocket and all things Ninja. This rocket was super easy to put together and big enough/durable enough for a 6 yr old to help with. Launches are super fun with the powerful engine and the size makes it easy for kids. Recovery was also easy. Well worth it, especially for young rocketeers!
